Privacy Policy

This privacy policy covers the My Heart: Blood Pressure Log app ("My Heart", "the app") as distributed through HUAWEI AppGallery. It explains what data the app handles, why, and what choices you have.

Who is responsible for your data

The app is developed by Szymon Klimaszewski, Poland, who is the data controller for the data described here. Contact: myheart@klimaszewski.mobi

Summary

• The health data you enter stays on your device. We do not run servers that receive or store your readings.

• The app has no user accounts and no cloud backup in this version.

• The app does not collect analytics.

• The app shows ads provided by HUAWEI Ads (Petal Ads). Huawei processes device data to deliver them.

• If you allow location access, your approximate location is sent to OpenWeatherMap to fetch the current weather for your reading. The location itself is not stored.

Data you enter in the app

You can enter and store:

• Blood pressure readings (systolic, diastolic), pulse, blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) and body weight, with date and time

• Notes and tags attached to readings

• User profiles: name, date of birth, and whether the profile has diabetes

• Reminders and app settings

This data is stored only in the app's local database on your device. It is not encrypted by the app, so anyone with access to your unlocked device may be able to open it. We do not receive, see or share this data.

You can change or delete any reading or profile in the app. To erase everything, go to More > Settings > Erase data, or uninstall the app.

Features that use device permissions

• Camera (monitor display scanner): when you use Scan, the camera reads the numbers on your blood pressure monitor's display. The image is processed entirely on your device. It is not saved and not sent anywhere. The values are only filled in for you to check before saving.

• Microphone (voice entry): when you dictate a reading, your device's built-in speech recognition service turns your speech into text. That service is provided by your device or its manufacturer and runs under their privacy terms. The app only receives the resulting text.

• Approximate location (weather): if you grant location access, the app gets your approximate location when you save a reading. It sends the coordinates to OpenWeatherMap to fetch the current weather. The weather (temperature, pressure, humidity, wind, cloudiness) is saved with the reading. Your location is not saved. You can deny or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings; the app works without it.

• Notifications and alarms: used only to show the reminders you set up. They are scheduled locally on your device.

Exporting and sharing your data

You can create PDF reports, CSV files and a summary for AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. Files are created on your device and shared only when you choose to, through the Android share menu, to the app or person you select. Once shared, the data is handled under the recipient's privacy terms. You can also import data from a file you select.

Third-party services

This version of the app includes the following services from third parties. Each of them processes data under its own privacy policy.

HUAWEI Ads (Petal Ads)

• Provider: Aspiegel SE (Ireland) for users in the EU/EEA; Huawei Software Technologies Co., Ltd. elsewhere

• Data: advertising identifier (OAID), device information (brand, model, operating system, screen and system settings), app information and usage, installed-app information, network type, carrier, IP address, and interactions with ads. Optionally: sensor data, Wi-Fi information, and approximate location if you have granted the app location permission.

• Purpose: showing ads, measuring ad performance, and preventing fraud. Ads may be personalized.

• Premium users do not see ads.

HUAWEI In-App Purchases (HMS Core IAP)

• Provider: Huawei Software Technologies Co., Ltd.

• Data: transaction records

• Purpose: processing purchases of Premium and restoring them

• The payment itself is handled by Huawei. The app never sees your payment details.

AppGallery Connect Crash

• Provider: Huawei

• Data: crash reports, including device model, operating system version, app version and technical details of the error

• Purpose: finding and fixing crashes. Crash reports do not contain your readings or profiles.

OpenWeatherMap

• Provider: OpenWeather Ltd.

• Data: approximate location coordinates, and only if you have granted location permission

• Purpose: getting the current weather for a new reading

Personalized ads and your advertising ID

On Huawei devices you can turn off personalized ads and reset your advertising ID (OAID) in Settings > Privacy > Ads and privacy. You can also remove ads completely by purchasing Premium.

Legal basis (EU/EEA users)

• Data you enter is processed on your device to provide the app's features you ask for (performance of the service). For health data, the basis is your explicit consent, given by entering the data. You can withdraw it at any time by deleting the data.

• Location for weather is used only with your permission (consent), which you can revoke in device settings.

• Crash reports are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the app working.

• Ads and in-app purchases are processed by Huawei as described in their statements above.

Data retention

Data you enter stays on your device until you delete it, erase all data, or uninstall the app. Third-party services keep data according to their own policies. For example, Huawei states that it keeps ad data for up to 2 years and transaction records for 7 years.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, delete and export your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Because your readings and profiles are stored only on your device, you control them directly in the app. For data processed by Huawei or OpenWeatherMap, use their contact options linked above, or write to us and we will help. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. In Poland, that is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).

Children

The app is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 16.

Medical disclaimer

My Heart helps you record and review blood pressure readings taken with a certified blood pressure monitor. It does not measure blood pressure or heart rate and is not a medical device. Always consult your doctor before taking any health-related action.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. Significant changes will be announced in the app or on this page.
